Not all Titans are ready to tow upon purchase. The King Cab is available with towing capabilities, such as a trailer hitch, but other options require additional packages.

When towing with the Nissan Titan, the tongue weight should be between 10-15% of the towing weight and for trailer weights over 5,000 lbs, a weight distributing hitch should be used.

Engines in the 2023 Nissan Titan

5.6 L V8

All 2023 Nissan Titans are equipped with teh 5.6 L D0HC V8 engine. This engine can supply 400 hp @ 5,800 rpm and 413 lb-ft @ 4,000 rpm of torque.

Trims in the 2023 Nissan Titan

There are 4 trims in the 2023 Nissan Titan. The main difference between these trim levels is the options available and the cosmetic additions that can be added. Each of these trim levels has various package options, bed lengths, cab sizes, and engine types, but this post will not go through all the options.

The Titan also comes in a non-XD and an XD version.

Cab and Beds Available in the 2023 Nissan Titan

Cab Options

The cab types in the 2023 Nissan Titan are King Cab and Crew Cab.

The King Cab is a two row cab which can seat up to 4 people. The back row is much smaller than the front and is smaller than the Crew Cab and has a partial door for passengers. It is available with the S and SV trims of the regular (non-XD) model.

The Crew Cab is the larger of the two cab options and has two full rows. This means that the back row has a full door for passengers. It also can accommodate 5 passengers. It is available on all trims.

Bed Sizes

There are two bed sizes available with the 2023 Titan. These are the 6.5 ft and 5 ft beds. These are referred to as the long and short beds respectively.

The King Cab only is available with the long bed and the Crew Cab has the option to have the short or long bed depending on the trim option.

The Titan XD is only available with the Crew Cab which means it has a 6.5 ft bed.

Packages Available with the 2023 Nissan Titan

The only Titan that comes with a trailer hitch is the King Cab. However, they do offer packages were you can add towing features. Below are all of the packages offered by Nissan that impact towing capabilities. Not all features of the package are listed below, but you can get that information from the brochure.

Other than the standard trailer hitch on the King Cab, every Nissan Titan comes with trailer sway control built in.

S Utility Package

The S package is only available with the S trim level and includes the following towing features:

• Class IV Tow Hitch Receiver
• 4/7 pin wiring harness

This package is standard on all King Cabs.

SV Convenience Package

The SV convenience package is the option that can add gooseneck capabilities to the Titan, it also comes with a 7 pin wiring harness.

• Integrated gooseneck hitch w/7 pin wiring harness (XD)

This package is also standard on the King Cabs, but will only add the gooseneck hitch receiver to the Titan XD.

SV Tow Package

The SV Tow Package is the most extensive towing package offered with the 2023 Titan. It includes:

• Class IV tow hitch receiver
• 4/7 pin wiring harness
• Extendarble tow mirrors
• Heated tow mirrors
• Trailer brake controller
• Trailer light check
• Front tow hooks

Pro-4X Utility Package

The Pro-4X is the package available for the Pro-4X trim that will add some additional towing features such as:

• Trailer brake controller
• Trailer light check

Pro-4X Convenience Package

The Pro-4X convenience package can also add gooseneck towing capabilities, but again can only be installed on the XD.

2023 Nissan Titan Towing Capacity

The 2023 Nissan Titan can tow between 9,200 lbs and 10,890 lbs.

Bumper towing is allowed on the Titan, but can only withstand 5,000 lbs. Anything over this weight requires a weight distributing hitch and hitch receiver.

2023 NISSAN tITAN gOOSENECK tOWING cAPACITY

Gooseneck towing (also known as fifth wheel towing) is available with the Nissan Titan, but only the XD model.

What is a Bolt Pattern?

A bolt pattern refers to the orientation and alignment of the bolts for a wheel. It refers to the number and the spacing of the required bolts for the rim to attach to the vehicle. This is also known as a lug pattern.

Bolt patterns cannot be changed without an adapter. The bolt pattern that comes with a car is standard to that vehicle.

The first number in a bolt pattern refers to the number of bolts. This value is usually 4, 5, 6, or 8.

The second number in a bolt pattern refers to the diameter of the lug circle. See the next section for examples on how to measure the diameter.

How to Measure Bolt Pattern?

Bolt pattern is measured by first counting the number of lugs on the wheel then measuring the diameter.

This diameter can be measured and presented in either inches or mm.

The diameter is measured by an imaginary circle that goes through the center of all the bolts. An example for a 4 bolt and 5 bolt pattern is shown below.

The diameter can be measured from the center point of one bolt to the center point of one across it. But an odd bolt pattern diameter is measured with an imaginary circle through the center of all the bolts.

Why is the Bolt Pattern Important?

You need to know the bolt pattern of your vehicle or truck in order to select the appropriate rims for your car. The bolts are what attach the rim and therefore the wheel/tire to your car. To install a rim to the car, the bolts must align with those of the vehicle.

If you have a rim that doesn’t match the exact bolt pattern of your vehicle, you may be able to use an adapter that can convert one bolt pattern to another.
