How often should you change your Honda Ridgeline Oil?

The Honda Ridgeline has a built in Maintenance Minder system that will inform you when oil changes should be made. There is also a display that will track the ongoing oil life.

The Maintenance Minder system will spit out a code which will indicate certain action items that may be done. If the code starts with “A” this means that you should replace the engine oil and if the code starts with “B” this means that you should replace the oil and the filter.

During a full oil change, you should also:

  • inspect brakes
  • check suspension
  • check all other fluid levels

If you do not choose to buy the recommended Honda oil, you should try to always buy a synthetic blend of oil with one that has the API-certified logo on it.

This will ensure that the oil you are putting in your car conforms to the engine, emission system, and fuel economy standards set by the International Lubricants Specification Advisory Council.

And lastly, DO NOT USE SUPPLEMENTAL ENGINE OIL ADDITIVES!
