The RAM 1500 family only has two bed sizes in the new 2022 RAM 1500. These bed sizes are the short and the standard bed.
The short bed is 5′ 7″ (5 ft 7 in) and the longer bed is 6′ 4″ (6 ft 4 in). Compared to other pickup trucks on the market, the RAM 1500 is lacking a long bed of around 8 ft.
But how big is this bed actually?

Bed Styles
Most half-ton and mid-size trucks today are only equipped with one bed style. A bed style does not refer to the size of the bed but rather the shape.
There are two main shapes of bed styles. The first is fleetside and the second is stepside.
Fleetside bed styles are those that have the wheel wells of the back axle tires protruding into the bed like the one displayed above. This means that the outside of the truck is flat on the sides of the bed.
The stepside truck beds are just that. The wheels present themselves as a step on the outside of the truck bed. This means that the truck bed is rectangular in shape and doesn’t have any wheel wells inside.
Fleetside beds are the most common today and are the only style offered in the 2022 RAM 1500.
Cab Size
The 2022 RAM 1500 only comes in two cab sizes and styles. These are the Quad and Crew Cabs.

Both of these cabs can accommodate two rows of passengers, but the main difference being that the Crew Cab is larger and has more room for backseat passengers. This makes the Crew Cab longer and unable to accommodate larger bed lengths (which will be covered in the next section).
The 2022 RAM 1500 Classic, however, comes in three cab sizes. Unlike the standard RAM 1500, this line also includes a regular cab which is a single row cab. This shorter cab allows this truck line to accommodate a long bed truck of 8 ft without overextending the length of the truck.

The short (5 ft 7 in) and standard (6 ft 4 in) bed sizes are compatible with the Crew and Quad Cabs in both the standard and Classic builds.
The long bed (8 ft) is only available with the Regular cab on the RAM 1500 Classic.

2022 RAM 1500 Bed Features
Multifunction Tailgate
The RAM 1500 has a multifunctional tailgate which means that it opens in multiple ways. It opens in the traditional way, downwards, but also has swinging doors.
This design allows you to approach the back of the bed easier without having to navigate past the tailgate flap.
Power Release Tailgate
Like many newer cars, there is an automated “truck” release, or in this case tailgate release.
With the press of a button on the key fob, the truck bed tailgate will lower and close on its own.
RAMBOX
Unlike the other features mentioned above, the RAMBOX is an optional addition.
The RAMBOX provides essentially a built-in mini trunk storage system on the side of the cargo bin. It is a lockable container with built-in power outlets for many uses.

The 5 ft 7 in bed is the shortest bed in the RAM 1500 series.
It is 67.4 inches long, 66.4 inches wide, and 21.4 inches deep.
It has a total volume of 53.9 cu. ft.

RAM 1500 6′ 4″ bed dimensions
The 6 ft 4 in bed is the longest bed in the standard RAM 1500 series. In comparison to most pickup trucks on the market, this is referred to as a “standard” bed length.
It is 76.4 inches long, 66.4 inches wide, and 21.5 inches deep.
Given the bed is longer and has 0.1 inch more depth, it has 7.6 cu. ft. of more space than the 5 ft 7 in bed with a total of 61.5 cu. ft.

RAM 1500 Classic 5′ 7″ dimensions
The 5 ft 7 in bed is the shortest bed in the RAM 1500 Classic series. It is slightly smaller than the standard bed in height by 1.5 inches.
It is 67.4 inches long, 66.4 inches wide, and only 20 inches deep.
This shorter bed depth equates to a loss of 3.9 cu. ft with a total volume of 53.9 cu. ft. of cargo space.

RAM 1500 Classic 6′ 4″ bed dimensions
Similarly to the short bed of the Classic compared to the standard RAM 1500, the depth is also 20 inches.

It has a total volume of 57.5 cu. ft. which is 4 cu. ft. smaller than the standard 1500.

RAM 1500 Classic 8′ bed dimensions
The 8 ft bed is by far the longest bed available and also the longest bed length available in any standard pickup truck.
Because it is so long, it is only compatible with cab sizes with a singular row, so in this case, is compatible with the Regular cab in the Classic build only.
It is 98.3 inches long, 66.4 inches wide, and 20.2 inches deep.
It has a total volume of 74.7 cu. ft.
