The 2022 RAM 1500 has 8 different trim levels available all with similar functionality, but slightly different variations.
These differences include engine availability, cab size compatibility, bed size compatibility, available upgrades/packages, and other cosmetic features.
New to the 2022 RAM 1500 is a trailer hitch light and a Uconnect 5 system with an 8.4 in touchscreen which is available on the standard model of every trim.

Limited
The Limited trim level comes with the 5.7 L HEMI V8 engine as the standard option with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This has a horsepower of 395 and up to a max towing capacity of 11,500 lbs.
It has an 8.4 in. touchscreen, but also has a 12 in. navigational screen available. There is also a 7 in color digital display in front of the driver. Uconnect is available in this model with customizable home screens and personalization in the system. There is even a dual-zone temperature control.
In terms of towing, this trim has a 360 Trailer Surround View camera. There is also blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path and trailer detection for safer driving.
The RAMBOX is available in this trim as a premium, but power running boards are included. And in the rear tailgate, there is the ability to add a 60/40 split swing doors which makes it much easier to access the bed.

Limited Longhorn
The Limited Longhorn is very similar to the Limited model and has everything mentioned in the section above. Though the Limited Longhorn can have the upgraded engine to the 5.7 L, it only comes with the 3.6 L.
The main difference is that it also has more premium cosmetic options both on the interior and exterior. These additions are:

Rebel
The Rebel has the ability to upgrade to the Uconnect 5C NAV 8.4 or 12 in screen in the center console.
It also comes with the 360 Trailer Surround camera.
Cosmetically, it has a sport performance hood, black wheel flared, vinyl bucket seats, and power seat adjustments.
It also has the 60/40 multifunctional swinging door tailgate as an option as well as the RAMBOX.
An exclusive safety feature in the REBEL is the Parallel and Perpendicular park assist.
The max towing capacity of the Rebel is slightly higher than the Limited trucks at 11,540 lbs. with the same max horsepower of 395.

Laramie
The Laramie has special upgraded lighting systems in the base model with LED headlamps, taillamps, and fog lamps.
Along with the option to upgrade the Unconnect screen to a 12 in screen, it also has the 7 in. colored display in front of the driver.
In the truck bed, the RAMBOX can be purchased or the tailgate can be upgraded to the 60/40 multifunctional sway doors.
The front seats have premium features with heated, powered seats and steering wheels.

Big Horn
The Big Horn, like the other trims in the Ram 1500 so far, has the RAMBOX available in the bed, but doesn’t seem to offer the 60/40 swing tailgate.
It does have a higher maximum towing capacity of 12,750 lbs with the same engine horsepower of 395.
Inside the cab of the truck is in-floor storage in the crew cab and an optional dual-pane panoramic sunroof! Also unique to the Big Horn is a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls.
Similar to the Limited Longhorn, on the exterior there is a chrome grille surround and bumpers.

Tradesman
The Tradesman is the cheapest 2022 Ram 1500 available. As the cheapest model, it has all the basic features like a rear backup camera, blind-spot monitoring, active braking and lane departure warning. There are no special cosmetic upgrades available or any special trailer assistance for towing. It can, however, match the maximum towing capacity of 12,750 lbs.

There is not much information on the website for the Tradesman HFE, but with only a slightly higher list price of $2000, the upgrades must be minimal from the standard Tradesman. there are only two color options, however.

TRX
The TRX is the most expensive 2022 Ram 1500. It is the off-road specialized truck of the family. It has upgraded, large tires and shocks for the best off-road performance. With the 6.2 L Supercharged HEMI V8 engine is surpasses the capabilities of any other Ram 1500 with 702 hp and 650 lb.-ft of torque.
The grille is very recognizable as it has a distinct RAM logo on the front that acts as an enhanced airflow intake to the engine.

Not all cab sizes and bed sizes are available in all trim levels. The only option that fits all trims is the 5ft 7in bed Crew Cab.

2022 RAM 1500 Engine Availability with Trims
Similarly, not all engines are compatible with every trim. almost all of the 2022 Ram 1500 trucks come with the 3.6 L engine, and have the option to upgrade to the 5.7 L or 5.7 L engine with eTorque.
The only Ram 1500 that accommodates the 6.2 L supercharged engine is the TRX.
